Okay...I never check my email first thing in the morning. NEVER.

Some odd reason drew me to the PC and I logged in and checked at about 6:55 AM today - about 10 minutes before J gets on his bus.

Oh boy! What do I see?

Two emails from his teachers. He never turned in a paper that was due weeks ago and it counts as TWO test scores. He also had TWO assignments due today that are both worth a quiz grade.
Do you think he had them done?
If you guessed "absolutely, because he is repeating this year and is aware of the importance of finishing on a high note"
You obviously haven't been paying attention. Actually I really haven't mentioned this before.

I just want to pack my things and fly to a far away place - not to return for 5 years in the hopes that everything has "worked itself out"

Back to reality - I'm so in need of a happy pill right now!

Anyhow....I digress.

I was able to find an incomplete copy of one of them but not the 2nd assignment. However, I did find TWO other similar assignments that were never done. Who knows how long ago they were due?!!?! He is currently failing English.
He has no idea that he is so close to being out on his own. 15 years old already!
I don't know what to do.

I took T and K to the Easter Vigil last night. It was very LOOONG - two hours to be exact.....if you count the 15-20 minute drive there and back, almost 3 HOURS, well you get the point.

However, the choir was wonderful. T was singing along to alot of the catchy songs they sang, and there were mANy songs!

It was great seeing his face when everyone had their candles lit. It was very nice.

John and Little J went to the morning mass. I got to sleep in. :-)

Then it was off to Vavo's for Easter meal and egg hunt. Pictures to follow.

I visited my vavos (DeMelo) grave today. I took the kids. It was too cold to stay long. I will be back with some plants and flowers to spruce things up. I will also take them to see my vavo Jose and Sally at that time. J and K were good. T stayed in the car playing his DS. I didn't want to push it - he tends to be very sensitive. If he doesn't have nightmares for 2 weeks for just driving into the cemetery - we'll be doing well!

My wireless has been down for days...I have to sit at a desk to get a hard connection - yuck!

I haven't been online for months so lots have happened.

Valentine's Day was nice.

Wow! Has it been that long!

I have so many pictures to download.

The trip to Acores was great. Very relaxing. Wish I were still there.

We enjoyed 2 weeks of sun, cejadas @10Am every morning from the bread truck and putting my life on the line by driving onto the roads....just picture me on the road during an European rally race through tight-dangerous-curvy roads that are on the side of a steep mountain side!
Fun! And I medicated for the flight! I should have saved it for the day trips in the auto.

Mom and Dad are enjoying themselves, still. They won't be back for another few weeks.
(just in time to watch the kids while I go to New Jersey for a wedding)
How convenient. ; )

Okay...minding my own business, trying to make a living.

I check my cell phone for any missed calls.

Sure enough, I have 3.

So, I call home to see if the critters are all in one piece.

.......SURPRISE!!

Little T is up in bed. Punished.

Apparently, he was feeling a bit curious this afternoon,

and decided to see what would happen if he lit a piece of paper on fire.

Yep! That was no typo.

The surprise was on him, though.

The french doors were locked as he tried to toss it outside. He couldn't unlock it w/ one hand. Panicked. Dropped said paper on the carpet!

Whew!

Luckily, T had a basketball in his hand and bounced the fire out! Clever.

My first round of tests came back negative. So that is good.

I have an appt next week and also a visit w/ dermatologist next mth.

....not only did I forget my mom's birthday this year.....That's bad. I also forgot my sisters birthday. That's not like me - I'm usually on top of those things.

Don't get me wrong - and if you know me at all - you won't!

I may be late getting you a card or gift - a call may take me a week to make - but it's not for failure to remember the occasion on that most special day.
I'm not very organized, that's all.

...again. I have been fighting another cold for the past week and a half...maybe two. What is up with that? I am sooo tired of of all the coughing and the sore throats! I actually took today off to try and recover. Wednesdays I don't work. We'll see if I can conquer this.

Oh and of course the kids have all taken turns w/ one ailment or another. Too bad they don't share this well under ordinary circumstances!

On another more pleasant note,

I have purchased the tickets for our trip to the Azores! I am sooo excited.
I'm trying not to think about it...because when I do, I get nervous about the flight.

I also have to pay off those bills! That is my short-term goal.

Day Off

Ahhh! I am home for the 2nd day in a row. Yesterday was very hectic. I chaperoned K's field trip to the zeiterion to see the orchestra. It was great.

I always hated the violin - but now have a new appreciation for them (when played well - they actually sound good)
Who woulda thunk it??

Anyway, today I am trying to catch up on chores and odds and ends that I've been putting off. Unfortunately it's already after 12 PM and this afternoon is busy w/ K's choir and girl scouts. So whatever I plan on doing- I better get done soon.

I won't be getting many days off because I need to save them for my summer vacation getaway! Woohoo!! I am soooo excited.
It will be my 1st plane trip.

I know that sounds crazy - no one ever believes me! But true.
I'm fighting back the urge to start buying and packing! (the trip is in August)

I'm still waiting to get the kids passports in. Hopefully they arrive soon. I must admit they guy at the post office had NO clue what he was doing. I have little faith that it went through without a hitch. I believe he mentioned to me that "I will make sure someone has a chance to review it to make sure everything has been entered correctly" I'm just glad I applied early. No telling what they did!

Enough wasted time. I have work to do. I wish I were outside enjoying this beautiful spring-like day! (at least it looks nice from inside)

I bought myself a gift

It's not my birthday or any special occasion. I've always wanted a record player. So I went online and did a little research...a little bargain hunting..and ta-da!

I'm now the owner of a nice player. Now all I have to do is get me some records!

I have a few...most I bought at a second hand store. Several from my dad. One very intersting one from my sisters' old collection....None other than Corey Hart. Hooya! Can't say as I'm digging that particular record but it's fun to listen to it. I did find an old Bon Jovi dust jacket, but Alas! no record to be found.

It was a pricey but well worth it. Now...I have to get up and flip the record.

It was soooo nice to see her and Meme. She really threw us a curve ball. (She always liked all the attention.) Just joking!

After dropping them off at Logan, my little T was very emotional because "Meme is gone" he misses her very much.

I wish I was able to spend more time w/ them. I feel like I was working the whole time...and when I wasn't, I was scaring the little darling girl.
I'll have to post some pictures.

Now that she is home....and all has been revealed...I hope she'll forgive the last couple of messages on her machine. I was getting a bit annoyed by Saturday afternoon! Little did I know she was getting off a plane in the states.

I can't believe it's already February!

Today, T arrived home from school looking awful, his face flush, very sober....when I asked him what was wrong, he began to cry uncontrollably.

It appears his bestest friend in the whole world is leaving for military school tomorrow or later this week. He is crushed. He no longer wants to wear his "cool" clothes because he has no one else to be cool with.

Now, I don't know if this is for real or just a clever psycological game this kids' parents are pulling....but I guess we'll see.

And like any tender loving parent, I seized the opportunity to put a little fear in my own little boy.b

As for the other boy in the house, things are looking bleak! I'm at my wits end w/ little J...I have a teacher conference to attend next week. He is failing everything, can't seem to get it together. I am running out of ideas.

K is doing well. It's girl scout cookie time! So it's booth sales galore and more cookies in my house than I need. I'll admit I've eaten my fair share of caramel delights!

PANIC MODE!!!

Okay....Christmas is just around the corner, and I have only purchased a handful of gifts!!!
AAARRGH!!!! I can't believe that!

Now, I'm the first one to stand up and say...."I'm a procrastinator"
but not at Christmastime. I love Christmas, and I'm usually pretty good about gift buying. Card-sending, well that's another story.

I'm frazzeled today. I am working today, then I have a Christmas dinner tonight. Working Sunday night.....I feel the walls closing in on me right about now.

My first day off since November 2nd

....and it's another snow/sleet storm.
Can you believe this?!!?!

The storm on Thursday was horrible. 13+" And the commute from hell.
It took me 2 hours to drive home (normally a 25-30 minute drive)

Now todays storm is supposed to eventually turn to rain, but freeze overnight.
That means my drive to work in the AM is going to be white-knuckled.

.....nooooowwwww, none of this matters today because I have No work
(just visualize me doing a little ditty while singing, I don't have to go to work!)

I FINALLY decorated my tree! Woohoo! Now all I have to do is my Christmas shopping!
I was hoping to do it today....but the roads are terrible.

Sunday school was cancelled...I skipped church this morning too...and I have to go out to dinner tonight...our little Christmas party, downtown NB, but it may be called off on account of the weather...I hope so.

Well, I have to go referee a fight between the kids.....

Mariel is back and I FINALLY dropped a package at the post office...a rather large package...what a load off my back. I've been meaning to send it out for a month or so. It cost me a good penny and I'm not really sure what I packed in there, because it's been so long....but hopefully Lindyloo will photograph the contents for me.

Okay, I'm sitting on the couch this morning instead of speeding to work because T got a "bus slip" for acting up on the bus again and poking a hole in the bus seat with a toy jet. Yes I'm talking about the sweet little 7 year old.....so it's banishment from bus privileges. Yes, you heard right.

So my question is.....who is being punished here??

I have to lose pay because I'm not at work....and he still gets to go to school...in style, I might ad. Personally chauffeured.

Now, we are waiting for a bill from the bus company for a new seat cover.

I told him he was infor a nice punishment but I had to sit and think of one bad enough....any suggestions on what I can do to get it through to him.

His excuse is always the same. My brain was telling me to do it. I didn't want to, but it made me do it.

This was very cute in the beginning but now I'm wondering if he really does have a little guy in his head....

Last week, while at the grocery store, a clerk gave T a cookie. When I noticed that he had it wrapped in a napkin, behind his back...I had to ask...

...his reponse, "I'm hiding it from my brain, so I don't eat it all at once"

I think I'm in trouble! HELP!

Wow! It's almost Christmas!

I can't believe how time is flying. I finally read Squide's blog tonight....it's been about 2 weeks since I've had the time to read it,let alone respond or post anything of my own.

I still have 2 more weeks of training before I start my regular schedule.
My first day on the job will be Christmas Eve.....I know, that sucks, but I have to do it.

I am going to save money for a trip to Sao Miguel this summer. I also want to visit lindyloo, if she'll have me this spring or summer. Just me for a few days. While I'm there I'd like to meet up with Heidi in Denmark.

I'll be trying to save money...

I do have to get to bed because I have to have the kids at CCD tomorrow by 8AM, then mass where K sings in the choir....then drop them off and speeding to New Bedford for work.

I did FINALLY get a christmas tree a few days ago. It's still not decorated....but at least it's standing in the living room.

And yes, Lindyloo.....I still have your package! I'm sooooo BAD!
I am determined to get it to the post office this week. Promise.

The good news is that there is time for any last requests from Wal or Lindyloo....

Yahoo! I have today and tomorrow off.

Today will be hectic....visiting everyone.

Tomorrow will be more relaxed...as I eat all the kids candy.....kidding.

Well, I'm still at the RX and I start the other full time job next Monday. The next 7 weeks will be crazy because the traing schedule sucks! But it has to be done. I don't think the boss is happy that I will be unavailable for the next month and a half....but I have to do what I have to do.
I will still be working on Sat and Sun, unless he decides to fire me!

I'm still waiting to get an ear-full from him. I haven't worked with him in about a week and a half. Oh well. We will see what happens.

Today, I'm supposed to be catching up on things that I haven't been able to do since I started working....but have done none. Unless catching up on morning talk shows, blogging and wearing pj's until 10 AM counts!

Ah well, I need to pick up a few more things to add to the package that I'm finally sending the Squidge household. I already wrapped a Christmas gift and threw it in there. (don't worry, I'm aiming for a fedex drop off tomorrow)
I'm sure I'll torture Lindyloo a little. She never could resist a wrapped package!

Okay, I'm working all morning and get a call from the kids dentist office wondering where I am. I reply, "the appt isn't for another 45 minutes...is there a problem?"

Apparently....yes. I was already 15 minutes late because my stupid PC decided to auto-adjust to daylight savings time....before it's supposed to.

Anyone else have this issue?? NO?
Well, I didn't think so.

I guess I'm the only dim wit here.

I suppose it would be funny (and I'm sure I'll laugh about it later) except that I ran around all afternoon picking up the kids and bringing them here and there...all late of course - because the boys' dentist and K's doctor decided to let me bring them in anyway!!

Now I would "like" to jump in bed because I'm exhausted! It is now 5:30PM.

Well, on a different note. I'm beginning to get a hang of the system at work. I sometimes chuckle at the thought (and anyone who knows me, may join me) of being entrusted to fill prescriptions. Holy Crap!
But honestly, I still double check everything....until I gain more confidence in myself. I have been working a lot, but did tell my boss last night that I will be working days soon. It was too busy to elaborate on that....I'll have to bring it up again....

You heard it right. I will be taking that second job offer. I will be working both jobs. I know it's crazy...but it pays better. I'd like to stay at the RX (my future) but right now it just doesn't pay enough. The other one does, and has great benefits. I just dont know how I'm going to manage both for the 5 weeks of training. I'll only be able to work on Sat and Sun and I don't know if that is going to fly with the BossMan. Especially since I'm such a rug. I probably will agree to something humanly impossible...I guess that will be another post.

I do have to get a package togather for Lindyloo Maybe I'll work on that today. (honestly, probably not)

Everything at work has been going well, except toward the end of my shift when I became utterly bewildered with the computer system....I'll try to master it tomorrow. (my fingers are crossed) There is an awful lot to learn.

Rainy Days and Parents

It rained last night and its a bit gloomy today....but none of that matters because I have today off. Yeay!

However, I have an appt at the eye doctor for T and have to visit the school to see how many credits can be salvaged....hopefully most of them.

I have been working a lot and haven't had much time for anything...
I'm hoping to catch up on everything (chores, dr.s, dentists, etc...) this month, because I start my full-time job, the first week of November. Whoa am I nervous about it. I'm still unsure how I am going to juggle everything, but if anyone can jam her agenda chock-full-of-stuff, I can. Hopefully, I can keep my sanity throughout.

Along those lines, I did sign up K for girl scouts. She loves it.
I tried to get T in cub scouts, but they won't return my call! They really suck! I have emailed, left voice-mail and even spoke to somone in the office...still no call back from the decision-maker. T is VERY UPSET. He now says "Why don't they call you back?" and "those people are stupid"..... oh, how I agree.

What are you going to do?

They also want to play basketball, but I have to call first to find out when, where and how often they practice before I can commit to anything else....
...Can you sense my guilt...they weren't able to play soccer this fall because I wasn't able to handle it. I'm having a harder time with it then the kids. It is the first fall that I haven't spent my weekends at the soccer fields in SEVEN years!!!

Resignation?

Okay, I gave my (2) weeks notice on Sunday.
Well....sort of.
I am in NO WAY going to stay, under ANY circumstances....sooooooo
when my team leader asked me to jot down the hours that would work for me, to keep me there....well, naturally I politely declined the generous offer.

I meekly said "Oh,...Okay"

WHAT!!!

The girls at work laughed at me....I admit I was laughing too...
what a doormat. I can be!!!

To make a long story short...I had to muster the nerve to confront her again yesterday. That time, I got it done!

Tonight when I go in, I have to submit a letter of resignation to the HR dept.
Stating my last day of work, blah blah blah

I am going to date it for Sunday, because I can't stay there an extra (3) days.

It feels soooo good to have this behind me. I do have to juggle both jobs and the kids for another stressful week and a half....but I can see the light at the end of the tunnel.

So much for a holiday.....

Well, i am starting my third day off from work....yet, I I've been busier than ever! I did get the other "part-time" job that I wanted. Thanks M****l.
I have been testing and going through the beginning of "training".
It's a LOT less pay than what I'm getting now, but I'm hoping it will be more rewarding in the long run. But Oh-so-less money! Now that I've gotten a taste of my own money...it's hard to do without.
I am still hoping to get a part-time day job and will be applying for night school soon. I'm planning on starting this January..so I better get on that, quickly!

I have decided, Heidi, that my first trip will be to see you in Denmark....if the invitation is still open. My very next holiday! I'm not sure when that is at the moment. I will keep in touch. I've got to start saving up now.

Oh, and I suppose I will have to put in my resignation/2 weeks on Sunday. That is going to be tough, unless I keep in mind how much I hate the place!

Birthdays and Passports!

Good News!!
My passport finally arrived. I have (5) days off next week and was thinking of going somewhere...Not an easy task to do when you have (3) kids....but I wanted to go somewhere. No matter how short the visit. I've never travelled in a plane. I've never strayed away from the eastern coastline. Sad, but true. I may see if Heidi is still in Iceland. Maybe I'll fly to Denmark for a couple of days. Who knows. I have these urges all the time. However, like the title states. 'REALITY' really bites! :o(
We'll see what the cost is and how I can arrange this. If not, I'll have to wait for the next school break. That's not so bad. Not good....but not so bad.

On another nice note, K turned the big "9" years old yesterday.
I took the kids to the new YMCA in Wareham and we went swimming.

Had a cake and cupcakes. Uncle N was there. Nothing spectacular, but it was nice. I had to rush off to work last night. BOOOOO!

I think I'm going to give my (2) weeks notice on Friday. Going to sleep at 12:30 - 1AM every night and then being up for 6 or 6:30AM for the kids is killing me. I walk around all day like a zombie. I am drowsy behind the whele too. That's never a good thing. Anyway, I need to find a day job, regardless of the pay right now. Just to keep my sanity. Will keep posting.

I left a little note on my dads web site....obviously some gross mispellings in portuguese, but they got the point. Even if I did pronounce to the portuguese speaking world that I'm a bit illiterate.

All the kids are away at school and I don't know what to do with myself!

Job search Rollercoaster Update

Okay....on Tuesday, I got great news! A job offer, more $$$, better benefits......nights!!!??!?

What the %!@%?!

So now I've ben waiting to see what happens.....no more days are available....Why? well, because they called me on a friday evening to give me an offer, after I clearly stated that I work nights! So, of course, holiday weekend...didn't get in touch until Tuesday...after she apparently offered up all the day shifts.

I even offered to work the awful shift she offered until a day shift opens up....haven't heard back yet.

So, I was feelings grand at first....now I'm slipping into a depression.....if I don't hear from her today....I will surely crawl into bed and sulk!

I will call later this afternoon...to followup. I am so down!

I'm assuming that the shift she offered me is taken, by the lack of a response to my suggestion! Isn't this just my luck? I should right a book! A "how-not-to" book, that is.

I did have the other job offer....I told him that I would get back to him by the end of this week...when I figure out my schedule...Damn!
It seems like I'm going to lose out on both offers now!

Well, enough about me.

The kids got right back to the usual school routine without much of a hitch. Their schedule is going well, so far. Mine, on the other hand is killing me. Down by 12:30AM - up by 6AM.....not much time for my beauty sleep, now is it?

I was soooo looking forward to having a normal day shift...OOOPS, I'm back to talking about me again!

The kids...well, everything is going well. Nothing much to post about that.
I do have a comment to post about movie ratings though! That embarrasing episode is for another day!

Well, I do have today off....I will be signing T up for baseball (for next season)
And, maybe soccer for T and K....I'm not sure yet...because my work schedule is up in the air!

Unfortunately, I don't think I'll have my passport in time for my somewhat-planned-but-not-really trip at the end of the month! Bummer! Then again, I'm so down...I might leave and disappear somewhere! (joking, for all you serious ones - no I don't need an intervention!)

I'll keep ya'll posted on any changes to my mundane life-interesting or not.

I have to meet with someone else tomorrow morning. I'm very nervous and excited to be getting the chance to work days. It will be really good for me...since the kids are starting school. I also got a call back from the manager at another place I've been trying to get in at. Yay!! I need to get back to him with what hours and days I'll be available....but I won't know that until I get some news tomorrow. I'm really betting alot on this job. I will be devastated if I don't get it.

I am also in the process of downloading all those pictures. I never found the cable, but I do have an extra camera with its own cable...so I took my memory card and put it in that one...I have over 500 pictures and quite a few videos, so it will be downloading for quite some time.

Hey,

I have an interwiew on Thursay morning in Plymouth. It will be a drive for me, considering where I'm living right now....but hopefully I'll get a little more money. At the least, I'll have mornings. I have to work Thursdays and Saturdays...so the kids are devastated that they can't play any sports. I just can't be there on Sat mornings. K won't be able to get to xhoir practice either because its on Thursdays. That sucks, but I'm getting ahead of myself. I don't even have the job. I may not be able to take the job unless they offer me at least $1/hr more. That's my standard, that I'm setting. If I don't get the offer I'm looking for then I'll have to pass....I guess. I'm so confused right now.

I did finally pay off all my bills this week. So from here on, I can start to save $$$. Let's hope.

On another note, I have picked up where Lindyloo left off. Apparently, my genius isn't so convincing because dad made me call England to see if she could fix the PC! Whatever! Too many hours spent fixing a PC that shouldn't be giving problems, is very aggravating. So, it's off to the PC Guy tomorrow, since waiting until my day off on Thursday is waaaaay too long for him to wait!

...This is for you. Since I'm a terrible person...and terribly hopeless when it comes to my cell phone. Which is not-so-new anymore, so I can't keep using that as an excuse. However, in my defense, I've always had Motorola phones. They are simple, easy-to-use. On the other hand, My not-so-new Sony cell phone is straight from hell. You've got to be a tech major to master it. I can't figure out how to "quickly" get my ringer on vibrate while I'm at work...so in order to keep from shutting it down while there....I keep in in vibrate ALL THE TIME. In short, I never hear the damn thing. Hence, miss everyones calls.
Maybe you want to do something this week during the day? Are you working already? Hope not for a few more days. Also, I never thanked you properly for taking the kids out to the movies. I'm sooo BAAAAD! (Thank you Monica! I can't forget you too)

Okay, I've got a wireless router setup in my little box of a living space. Yahoo! I can finally go online again. I have so many pics to show off and so much to say.

I have overtime again. Mornings too. I'm working a split shift 3 days this week. I'm also going to see if I can get a pharmacy tech job at the pharmacy nearby, in about 30 minutes....wish me luck. I don't even think they're hiring....but that never stopped me before. : ) I'm hoping for the day shift. So I can make some moolah while the kids are at school. Speaking of work. I have to be back on the phones for 4pm. yay! (sarcastic)

My feet need a pedicure.....and I still have a gift certificate. SO maybe next week. I'll keep my fingers crossed.

Nothing more to say that everyone in New Beige and surrounding towns doesn't already know. I'm still looking for a better job. My police exam score will be mailed out in the beginning of September. I'm so nervous. I have a bad feeling about the whole thing. I am definately NOT going to post my score if it embarrasing. Dumb ass! What the hell am I then? Can I be american indian or hispanic and get a little help with my state exam score? I swear, people do aggrevate me with the nonsense that comes out of there mouths....and I've heard plenty of nonsense lately.

I decided to start walking around the park in the mornings since i'm temporarily staying at my parents house...long story, for anyone who doesn't already know!
As I was heading back home, I started getting that burning red rash, I used to get whenever I worked out.
I don't know what it is but it's awful. So painful of an irratation! I've been online trying to figure it out once and for all. It may be a rash brought on by sweating!!??!?
I have NO clue. That's the closest thing I've been able to find.

I'm determined to lose my behiga...Is that how you say it....DAD! :(

Anyway, Lots of stuff happening. Not ready to really discuss it openly, so I will try to enjoy the couple days I have off...catch up on dentists and doctors with the kids before schgool starts.

Just the thought of it helps keep me going for another day.
I have worked a shit load of hours (for me) and I have some major bills to pay so I am excited to pay them off.....or at least make a dent.
I still owe M****l and Lindyloo....I haven't forgotten.

Anyway, I have a nice, I hope, day trip on Saturday to "NEW YORK" with my mom, Lindyloo, my godmother and uncle, M****l, along with my daughter and little squidge.

I do need a pair of sunglasses. Well, "need" is quite debateable.
I have a pair, I just hate them.

Everything on the homefront is just as always. Now that we have agreed on several major points, we actually get along better than before. Who da thunk it?

The job? Well, lets just say it's work.
We had a meeting yesterday on career development.
The new program is in 6 month increments.
I had a hard time paying attention because for the life of me, I couldn't wrap my brain around the possibility that I would still be there in 6 months.

Gosh! WOuldn't that be a let down.
I mean, it's a job that is certainly not for everyone. I know I can do it. With a little more confidence in the systems and in myself, I think I could be great at it. You have to be a tolerant personality. I am. You have to be able to listen. I can. You have to be able to take some bullshit from the too-common irate customer. I can...and have.
I just don't see myself doing this particular job. Indefinately. Will I try to move on to other departments, if possible?

I just got my first paycheck WITH my medical insurance withheld.
I can't believe how little I'm getting after (2) weeks of work!
It really makes me want to crawl in a hole....especially since I could have used the medical a week earlier and didn't have any.

Well, I'm feeling MUCH better. I still have another 18 days of antibiotics....but at least the pain is gone. No complaints here. Until my ER bill arrives! Stay tuned if you like foul language.

I am almost back to my normal schedule. Lindyloo is still here with little squidge yet it seems like I have barely seen them.

I have a more pressing issue that I'm trying to work through at the moment.
The kids won't stop fighting and bickering. It's driving me crazy! They've always argued but this non-stop war among the three of them is literally driving me over the edge. I actually screamed at the top of my lungs just about an hour ago.
I didn't scream anything at all....just a loud shout. It did scare the hell out of them and kept them cowering in the other room in silence for a total of 4 minutes.
They've been back at it. I'm really at my wits end.

I've tried seperating them. Putting them in their own rooms. I took away the TV and video games. (Its way too nice out for that anyway). I've given them chores to keep them busy. Nothing works so long as they cross paths in some way.

Any ideas would be great. I'm ready to ship them back to my mom for a few days to save my sanity. However, I suspect that is what causes there lapse in obedience. They have much more free reign over there....they forget themselves when they come home. I don't tolerate the same shit here!

Hello to anyone wondering where I have been.....
Let me start by stating that I have been diagnosed with Lyme disease.
Hip hip hooray. Damn ticks! I've been feeling miserable for the past week and suspected I had lyme because I knew the symptoms (too many people I know have had it or still have it) I tried to hold out until my insurance begins but if not for my kids, I would have thrown myself in front of a bus. I kid you not! I've been very irrational lately. I think its been a pain induced stupor. I left work early on Sunday. I had to take Monday of (with a dr.'s note). I have to go into work tonight. I have more than enough Vicadin for the pain. However, as with anything that goes wrong with me....it can always get worse. The antibiotics that I was prescribed made me projectile vomit. Both times that I took it. So, as of yet, I have not begun my meds, officially. The DR. called this morning and he told me STOP, he will fax over a new presciption. It appears I'm one of a few people who don't take kindly to that particular med. See?, it can always get worst.

Just to prove my point....if the above doesn't do it for you....wait until my emergency room visit bills come in. Yep.

As for the the cookout, I didn't hear about it until this past Saturday, I didn't think I was invited. No big deal, I had to work that evening.....and I was not very pleasant, since I'm still feeling sick. I hope to see you at the graduation party Mary! Hopefully I'll be feeling better by then. As a matter of fact. 7/7....I better be feeling better!

On a brighter note, I got a new car. Well, not exactly new. 2004 GM w/ 17,000 miles. That's as new as I'll ever get. I'm so broke right now. I'm looking for a job with more hours and better pay. I'm still waiting to see what my score was on my police exam......I no it's a shot in hell. I just hope I get a respectable score. Otherwise I'm not sharing it with anyone....Stupidity is embarrasing to me.

I've been so distracted with my health issues that I never dropped off anything for my dad on Father's day. I know, I'm terrible. I also never got anything for my husband on his birthday, which was Sunday. Terrible, again, I know. In my defense, I couldn't move. I was physically exhausted and couldn't drive unless absolutely necessary because of my intense headaches that have plagued me for days on end. I will make it up to them all today. Even though I still am feeling sick....it's not nearly so bad. I have some house chores to catch up on and some office work....then I'm all set to head out in this swealtering heat. I hope everyone is keeping cool and staying safe.....and remember those body checks for those pesky microscopic ticks!

I really need to know. I've been saying that I'll post pictures but I just don't have time. Really. It's not like I have some time but I'm too tired or I have a few minutes but I choose to read a book....Wait a minute....Read? A book? OK, I did just say that. Wishful thinking I suppose. However, I honestly have no time right now. I'm always exhausted. I keep dozing off in front of the screen. I just brewed myself some coffee. I don't normally drink that poison but it's beginning to work on me. I just managed to email my cousin Sonia in CA...still waiting for the visit to the US. *hint* *hint* I'm going to have to call N & E to arrange something for this fall??

Anway, I still owe Heidi an email. I want to check out the site to see if there are any updated photos of the new baby.

I'm a liitle depressed lately and I'm afraid I may be picking up a bad habit to self-medicate myself. Shoes. That's all I'm gonna say, ladies. I (again) will post photos of the newest members of my closet. I think we'll be happy. Until I need my next fix.

Okay, I've had some really nice customers and even some really funny conversations with customers at my new JOB...this is an announcement for all the rude people who called customer service the past few days: Please stop yelling at me. It won't make me type any faster. Really, play nice. Or, I may have to hit the FU button...and we don't want that to happen.

On another note, Today is also the last day of school for the kids. Yahoo! Nothing scheduled for the kids this summer! Can you sense my relief? I almost signed them up for some activities...(I love punishment). But I listened to better judgement....my sanity is saved, for now.

Chaperone

On Tuesday, I chaperoned a middle school field trip in Plymouth. It was a whale watch. My first time so I was fascinated. There were sooo many whales, more than they typicallly see, according to the tour guide. It was pretty cool. I have a bunch of pictures. Hopefully I can post some soon. I did however freeze my ass off. I honestly couldn't feel it. Really, it was that cold. J LOVED it! He thought it was really cool to see them feeding and flapping their tails.

On another note, I began taking calls on my own on Tuesday. (With help from advisors walking around.) Let me just say, I am clueless! Six weeks of training?? What? Where? I feel like I've never been trained on any of it. Not much information from those 6 weeks have actually been absorbed by my rock of a brain.

Speaking of rocks....marriage life is still rocky.

I also just signed up for medical insurance....first time we'll have any in years. Yay! However, it costs about half my paycheck. No exageration! (that doesn't look to be spelled right, but I'm too lazy to edit), so moving on.....

Softball and T-ball are both over now. No more bothering my mommy. And believe me when I say "bothering". As she is keen to remind me of. Personally I would tell her where to go, but its for the kids sake that I ask for help. Always for the kids. Now she says she won't be doing any more of it....so I better not sign them up for anything else next year because as she pointed out..."It was your choice to move so far away from me" Wonderful. I won't be signing them up for anything; which is going to devastate them when they hear, but unless I can get a change in hours, or their dad steps up and makes that a priority (fat chance), it won't be happening. I'm just taking things one day at a time. We'll see how it all goes. Can't wait for the trip to water country and squidge's arrival next week. The house is a buzz about the upcoming arrivals. I still can't believe it's almost been one year! Where has the time gone?

I'm not, so I decided to think of some interesting facts about myself. So here is me in all my weirdness!

1. My hair was once long enough to touch my knees (I just shuttered at the memory)

2. I don't get seasick, however, I can't swing on a swing...I usually get sick when attempting to swing at the playground. (Seriously. Don't laugh. It's upsetting, since I used to love it as a little child. Now that I'm thinking of it. I've been suffering of this since grade school. Weird.)

3. On a similar note, I occasionally get a weird vertigo-like feeling when sitting in the pasenger seat of a vehicle. (I know you're thinking straight jacket)

4. I'm extremely indecisive. Not sure what else to say about this.

5. I often try to fit in "one more thing"...and of course, make myself late. (Now everyone knows why I'm always late)

6. I often snort when I laugh. (This often makes me laugh harder which causes me to tinkle...heehee...see Lindyloo

7. I am a pessimist by nature, but often disguise it by saying optimistic things. (Don't let me fool you)

8. I'm a wonderful daydreamer.
I sometimes find myself staring blankly at my monitor, or worse yet,
I wonder how on earth I drove & arrived @ my destination in one piece (this happens more often than I'd like to admit)

God, I'm a weirdo! I could go on...and on...and on...and on...Not very interesting, but definately odd.

Oh my goodness, I just got an update on squidgyboo....then I decided to wander over to my little piece of the blogging world to see if anyone left any comments....perhaps noticed my absence. Nope. However, Princess Di did mention my lack of updates on Sunday.
First of all, Squidge must have grown about an inch in the past two weeks....or at least her hair has.
Next, Groa had a baby boy!! I can't wait to check out the blog, Heidi...Thanks.
I'll even get to brush up on my Icelandic. Fartha Haim! (I know that is spelled incorrectly, but you get it, I'm sure)
I'm sooo excited to hear from everyone, really. I'm excited....how pathetic I am. In my defense, not much excitement comes my way these days. Unless little T counts.
oh, and camikaos ....I too thought T had a unique, if not twisted mind.... Comforting to know I'm not the only one raising a ~~devilish~~ ~~manipulative~~ imaginative child.

On a personal note, I did have my first mental breakdown on Friday. I was soooo stressed out, too much pressure, hungry, sleep deprived....who knows why...but I broke down on the phone with Verizon tech support. Damn bastards made my life here at work misery last week!

Anyhoo, I've recoved pretty well, all things considered. I have only one more week of classroom training before I get thrown on the phones next week. No!!!!! I'm NOT ready. I did take calls last night with an agent doing the typing.....it went well....as long as I repeated word-for-word what she was whispering to me!
I don't know if I'll be able to handle this job. My brain has never needed to function at such high efficiency. (3 kids....stay-at-home mom for over 10 years) I believe I may have lost a portion of my brain....and I can't get it back!

Oh and I am still going to post some interesting facts about me soon. So far, I've only come up with two. Sad. I know. Maybe, weird counts? Cause I got loads of those! Thanks, I think...to Lindyloo and Jennifer

That is what 6 year old T said to me a few minutes ago before stepping on the bus. What!!?? I asked. He proceeded to explain to me that big kids are bad, and that he will also get more bad when he turns 7. Wonderful. He's made a concsious decision. What did I expect from a child who's excuse for doing bad things, like drawing (with pen) all over the leather arm rest in the back seat of the car, using a sharpie to draw pictures on the bricks on the fireplace, and regularly taking that same sharpie to draw ~~alien symbols~~ pictures all over his stomach and legs is to say
"my brain told me to do it"

I can't believe June is right around the corner. It's amazing to me how time flies! I've already completed (2) weeks of ~~torture~~ training. I am anxious to get on with my regular schedule...however, I have 4 more weeks of training!!
I wish I had pictures to post but I haven't so much as picked up my camera....so unlike me, I know. We've also completed our move out of the main office and are back at the home office. Yahoo! This will be much easier for me. It would be nice to sit in the sun. The weather looks wonderful from my office window. *sigh*

My wireless router has called it quits. Last time I logged on was Friday morning...I did manage to get a card out to Lindyloo before the rate hike. :)

After a hectic week, and a rather busy Saturday, I decided to take it easy on Sunday. After a beautiful Mother's Day mass, the final family mass for K in the childrens choir until September, We took the kids to the playground.
After arriving home and making lunch, I decided to spread out a blanket on the newly mowed lawn, and nap in the sun. Great idea, since I was still physically exhausted from the long days the previous week. However, it was a bit chilly when the wind blew, and somehow woke up with T and K laying next to me. Sweet, yes, but I couldn't savor the moment because I was scratching uncontrolably due to a GAZILLION mosquito bites! How? I sprayed the kids, myself, even the dog! How and why do they persist and continue to get me?!!?!

It doesn't help that I will be getting little sleep, as usual after attacks like these, because I'm always paranoid of EEE and the West Nile....which seems to be prevalent here.

Mom is back from Canada today, I believe. I will be visiting her before going to work...not with the kids, unfortunately.

Well, here goes another week!

I can't believe I've gone from NOT working for 12 years to working two jobs in such a short time. I've only been at it for one week. Already I'm feeling the strain. Have I been too pampered? Things are all changing for me at once. It's a bit overwhelming but change could be a good thing, so I'm told. Things on the home front aren't getting any smoother. We are both getting really close to calling it quits. He's sick of me. I'm sick of him. YadaYadaYada.
Anyway, some members of the family still laugh when they hear that I'm working so much. Why? What is so funny, I wonder? I'm more determined to kick ass at work, and NOT have a mental break down just to spite all the nay sayers.
I can do this. As long as I say that to myself. I can do this.
I hope.

So much to do....So little time

Well, a lot has happened since Sunday.
Let me start by saying I took my second exam in Boston on Monday and I choked. Yep, flunked. I'm embarrassed to state that but its the truth. It was sooo easy too. I just couldn't get over the pressure. Everytime the phone rang, my mind just went to mush. When I hung up the call....well, back came the brain function. Along with a few curses at myself. I knew exactly what I did wrong on every call. I even took notes to remind myself. But Alas, it was NOT meant to be.
Anyhoo, I did start training on Monday afternoon for the job I DID get. Silly, this job is 10X more demanding than the one I flunked at. Go figure. Its going to be very difficult to hold down both this job and my old one at the same time, still get the kids off to school in the morning and keep up with some chores. I'm really anxious to leave by about 8:30 PM, so 10 PM comes on very slowly. It's a LOT of information to absorb in the next 6 weeks. I hope I can handle it. As A matter of fact, getting to work on time will be my most difficult challenge. I can already predict trouble. I'm sooo bad in that respect. Well, what will be will be, so they say.
I am going to follow through with the polic exam that I signed up for and PAID for after a big fight with big J.
My mommy laughed when I told her the exam is in less than 2 weeks. What is so funny about me being a police officer??? Plenty of women do it.
I have three kids that I'm always mediating between. I already drive a grand marquis (which causes people to tense up and move the hell out of my way on the highway) - which is a good thing because I'm usually speeding from one thing or the other. Also, I grew up in NB....so I know the ways of the drug dealers, thieves, and thugs. Went to school with quite a few of them, matter of fact. So I think I stand just as good a chance as any other woman taking this exam. As long as I don't choke.

Inconsiderate Moms

I had the misfortune to witness several inconsiderate moms at K's school musical. First of all, let me say that I don't mind the moms who let the little ones run up and down the isles, who let kids talk way too load to eachother, or allow infants to cry at the top of their lungs for minutes on end...while hushing them ever so calmly. Nor do I mind the stinky diaper. Shit happens. Kids will be kids.

However, I will say this,
Saving EIGHT of the very best seats in the autitorium, when only 5 of you show up...it's just NOT cool. Move your pathetic asses and jackets over so three other parents can enjoy the show! That's a bitch! Next, if a couple of seats ARE reserved with that old trusty jacket....please move on. DO NOT throw the jacket beside the woman in front of you and steal those seats. Thats a bitch! (Especially when ~~I look guilty~~ that woman now looks like the one who moved the jacket and stole the reserved seats!) The next offender isn't inconsiderate, (unless standing in front of a mom at a softball field on Monday...AGAIN, while that mom is trying to watch the game...AGAIN is inconsiderate), just bothers the crap out of me in general. I mean, a bouquet of ROSES for a third grade musical performance! My Gooooshh! Get over it!

In all seriousness, I just arrived at the office from my exam. It was in Marlborough. Five people in the exam room and we all passed. While waiting for the results, I was actually daydreaming of being told that my score was the highest they had EVER seen...and promptly escorted me to another floor where they begged me to come on board, great pay, and all the benefits included.... So I was a little disappointed to hear that we ALL made it.

Really, I'm just joking. I'm just relieved that I made it to the next round. Next it's off to Boston to complete the second half of the exam. Fun. Not really.
